Akasa Air to launch commercial operations starting August 7

The airline said that they would use the Boeing 737 Max aircraft on the route for commercial operations. Flight operations will be carried out on two Boeing 737 Max aircraft. Boeing has sent one plane and the second will be sent by the end of this month.

Akasa Air, in a statement issued on Friday, said that he had started selling tickets on 28 flights that would operate every week on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route from August 7 and 28 flights on the Bengaluru-Kochi route from August 13.

We started operations with flights between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, with a new Boeing 737 Max aircraft, “said Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Akasa Air.

We will adopt a gradual approach to support our network expansion plan, progressively connecting more cities, because we add two aircraft to our fleet every month, in our first year,” Iyer added.

Akasa Air is one of the most awaited low -cost airlines to enter the aviation industry. The airline received an operator certificate from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) earlier this month.
